Top 25 Faith Blogs

Along with diving back into blogging, I have been trying to catch up on reading blogs that I just have not been on in months. On Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom I saw that she, among many others, are up for the Circle of Mom's Top 25 Faith Blogs! I think that's amazing to see Pagan faith blogs right up there with the mainstream. There is, of course, drama about Pagan blogs being allowed in a contest about 'faith blogs' but I encourage you to vote and stay away from the comments...never feed the trolls, especially Christian trolls. I have so far resisted, and hope to continue to be strong, I got a little taste on Mrs. B's post about it and I know I will just get mad. I just keep telling myself no one ever changed their beliefs because they lost the argument. If you have a faith-based blog you follow and love, please click HERE, look for it, and vote before June 8th! You can vote once a day. If nothing else, take a peek and maybe get a new faith blog to follow!!

May Garden Round-Up

OMG! I decide to blog again, and I can't log into Blogger for a few days! That, paired with the fact my Mom and her new husband (who is SUPER-AWESOME) were here the last week has put me off my blogging "restart". Oh well, onward and upward. Here's the May Garden Update.
It rained all week, so the garden is doing GREAT and Ladybug has eaten a few strawberries from the garden, she even shared with Mojo! We have the 2nd phase of the garden in full swing.
We had a few herbs come back up, and added a few. I have had to cut back the peppermint and chives to keep them from taking over.

The Hoop Box we put up last Spring was planted back in March and we have had lettuce and spinach. There are radishes, carrots, kale, peas, and finally beans starting up.

The squirrels have been stealing the beans we plant, but the last batch came up and I will be planting another round in another box this week.
We have 5 Square Foot boxes, including the kids box, 3 trough boxes, 2 of which have squash and zucchini, (1 waiting till next year for corn, I didn't get it filled early enough) and a pumpkin box. Notice the White Trash toilet flower planter...I couldn't help myself!
You can see in this pic the pumpkin box, and in the back by the composter the remains of the chicken coop. I am heartbroken to report we were misinformed about the ordinance for chickens in city limits and we had to give them up last summer. We are going to try to turn it into a mini-greenhouse for seedlings after our success with the Hoop Box. I will keep you posted when we tackle that in the fall.
Our neighbor gave us some starts of purple potatoes, I can't wait to make purple mashed potatoes!!!!!
We planted some boarders around the property line on 2 sides and the part behind the garden has 2 raspberry that hopefully will fruit next year.
We had just gotten the garden rolling last year when I went back to work, and it fell to the wayside after that, so this year I hope I can stay on it. Mojo is old enough to come out and "help" so it's super-fun out there with the girls!
Hopefully it gets a little bigger, and a little better every year, since I am just stumbling along and learning as we go. Any tips and tricks?

Witches Education League

Witches Education League ( WEL) is the offspring of two Pagan groups; Project Witches Protection (PWP) and Witches Education Bureau (WEB). Born in Feb 2011, W.E.L. is a not-for-profit organization with the purpose of educating society about Witches, their craft, and their beliefs.
For the full article click HERE
I checked out their website and it's just ads. I hope they get some good content up soon, because I think this could be a great resource for people to get information about paganism in a positive and factual way. Salem is pretty iconic, for better or for worse, and there is a name recognition factor that may actually be helpful in education people. What do you think? Do you wish you had this in your area to help the "locals" understand your beliefs a little better?

False Alarm

I said a while back that I was going to start blogging again, but I planned and the gods laughed. I was not, at that time, able to come back home with the girls because the job that H.H. had fell through, and we want one of us here at home with the girls full time. He now has a job that looks like it will become full time. Also, I just cannot afford the 35 mile commute to my job at $4 a gallon for the 1 or 2 days I planned to cut down to and so we pulled the trigger and I am back home again. I have been back for a few weeks, but I have been getting my house back in order (H.H. did a GREAT job as a stay-at-home-Dad, but Mom clean is different than Dad clean) and getting my own grooming salon here at the house rolling full time again. I also started selling jewelry direct sales. Needless to say it has been nuts, and when I was still at Petco I was grooming 7 days between here and there plus jewelry shows once or even twice a week and so the blog fell by the wayside. I have thought of several things during those weeks that made me say to myself, "I wish I could put that on Hippie Witch", and realized how much I missed it. So here I am, hopefully for reals this time, and it may still be sporadic for a bit, but I'm back in the blogging saddle! Beyond that, I look back at the past year, without blogging being part of my life, and it just wasn't as much FUN. So here's to blogging, fun, and being back home again in Indiana!
